Innovative Design, Incorporated (IDI) located in Knoxville, Tennessee, is an engineering design consulting firm specializing in mechanical, structural, electrical, environmental, and process related projects. IDI provides services to Industry as well as Government. We have provided services for both large and small projects for Industries such as the Steel and Coke Industry, Paper Industry, Environmental Industry, Nuclear, Aluminum Recycling, Automotive, Water, and more. Our government projects have been performed for the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort; South Carolina; Hill Air Force Base in Utah; as a subcontractor for a company supplying components engineered and installed in the Aft of the NASA International Space Station; the Spallation Neutron Source in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and various projects at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, including US ITER.

IDI has been in business for over 20 years and has established an excellent reputation both with our Industrial customers and our Government customers. In March of 2015 we were awarded the “Impact Award – Partnership” by UT-Battelle, LLC and Oak Ridge National Laboratory for outstanding performance. We have also been recognized in the Knoxville News Sentinel’s “Book of Lists” in both Engineering and Woman-Owned Business categories. In May 2017, IDI was selected as the recipient of the Knoxville Chamber’s Woman-Owned Business Excellence Pinnacle Award.
